Participants will explore the concepts of empathy, sympathy, and vulnerability and their connection to their work and personal lives. They will examine and practice ways to build their empathy skills through small group story sharing.
In a safe environment, folks will have an opportunity to empathetically connect and reflect.
Participants will explore the concepts of cultural lenses and unconscious biases and how they impact the way they view and engage with the world. They will examine various dimensions of their identities and reflect on how their cultural lens has been shaped by the intersection of the various aspects.
Participant will reflect on their first impressions of LGBTQ+ people and how those impressions have changed over time. They will have a clearer understanding of the importance of language in relation to creating affirming environments LGBTQ+ individuals and clarify questions that they have about foundational LGBTQ+ vocabulary.
Folks will be able to describe the difference between biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, and attraction and know at least one reason it is helpful and important to recognize these different components within gender.

The workshop provides tools and understanding to detect and reverse dysfunction in teams, build impactful teams, understand and maintain psychological safety at work, and build the power of storytelling.
